About Our Program

Mission Statement: teamONE Volleyball is a competitive program dedicated to advancing the athletic and personal development of youth. We encourage the principles of teamwork, positive life-skills, and good sportsmanship through participation in competitive volleyball activities. We want your daughter to grow not only as a volleyball player but become a great athlete.

Sara Shannon-Director
Sara is a 1994 graduate of Kingwood High School, where she played volleyball, basketball, and track. While at KHS she was named 2nd team All District her Senior Year as an Outside Hitter.

After high-school, she attended Abilene Christian University. After attending ACU for 2 years, she came back to the Houston area to be with her new husband and graduated from Sam Houston State University with a bachelors in Education.

Prior to college, Sara participated in club soccer in the Kingwood area on Kingwood Select teams and she participated in Houston Juniors for 3 years where she got a chance to go to the Junior Olympics.

Her coaching career began at Teague Middle School in the Aldine Independent School District coaching volleyball, track, and soccer. After coaching all three sports for a number of years, she committed herself to coaching for the Houston Select Volleyball program here in Kingwood for 5 years. She currently teaches 8th grade Language Arts in the Aldine Independent School District

Sara has competed in five Houston Marathons, a number of local triathlons, 50 mile race in one day, and completed a Half Iron-man. She loves to workout and recently finished the 2008 Houston Marathon.
